Abstrak Myanamar mulai menghadapi isu pelanggaran kemanusiaan yang mulai muncul secak awal kemerdekaannya pada tahun 1948. Hingga sampai saat ini pada 2011 konflik yang belum reda dan masi dalam proses perdamaian. Permasalahan utama bagi negeri tersebut adalah kebutuhan lahan. Sebesar 75% penduduk myanmar adalah petani dimana lahan menjadi tempat bergantung. sebesar 57% lahan tersebut etnis mayoritas tertentu. Kehidupan yang miskin menciptakan berbagai tindakan persekusi bagi etnis - etnis minoritas di Myanmar. kondisi tersebut tidak hanya terjadi di Myanmar masih banyak lagi paparan pada 23 artikel yang dikumpulkan dalam buku Rotledge Handbook of Human Rights in Asia ini. Buku ini mengeksplorasi penyebab utama dan paling mendasar yang menyebabkan pelanggaran kemanusiaan terjadi. Mempertimbangkan berbagai pelajaran dari berbagai inisiatif diambil dari tingkat global, regional hingga domestik serta memberikan rekomendasi dan keputusan untuk berubah lebih baik.
