Manajemen koleksi ilmu kesehatan menjadi perhatian penting bagi perpustakaan yang berada pada inti bisnis organisas yang bergerak pada bidang kesehatan atau pendidikan ilmu kesehatan. "health sciences collection management" memulai pembahasan berawal dari konteks tentang manajemen publikasi, pendanaan yang membiayai pemilihan koleksi ilmu kesehatan. Manajemen ini tentu memberika berbagai pertimbangan kepada pustakawan apakah mereka akan membeli sebuah buku atau tetap menyimpan dananya untuk pengadaan koleksi yang lebih baik. Manajemen pemilihan koleksi pada abad 21 tidak hanya berhenti sampai membeli buku atau tidak namun jauh lebih dalam untuk menjawab perubahan manajer dalam mengambil keputusan untuk mengadakan koleksi. |
